St Mary’s to host hockey festival

The St Mary's Investec Hockey Festival will be held on 9 to 12 April and will see the best hockey players from schools from all over Southern Africa participate. The festival has been in existence for 16 years and this year, Investec has sponsored the event.

The festival was founded by ex-national and Olympic coach, Ros Howell, and has a unique fast-paced format with games played with only one half of 25 minutes.

The following schools will participate in the festival this year: St Mary’s School, Waverley 1st XI, Durban Girls’ College, Paarl Gimnasium, St John’s DSG, Hoërskool Waterkloof, Kingswood College, Our Lady of Fatima DCS, Penryn College, Somerset College, Eunice High School, Hoër Meisieskool Bloemhof, Pretoria High School for Girls, Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School, St Mary’s DSG, Pretoria, St Mary’s School, Waverley, Festival XI, Brescia House School, Hoërskool Menlopark, St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, Herschel Girls School, Hoërskool Garsfontein, St Anne’s Diocesan College, Collegiate Girls’ High School, Peterhouse Girls School, Roedean School (SA), C & N Sek. Meisieskool Oranje, Hoërskool DF Malan, Windhoek Girls’ High School, St Stithians Girls’ College, The Wykeham Collegiate, Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria, Pearson High School and Kingsmead College.
