Yeoville police feeling upbeat after move to new station

YEOVILLE - YEOVILLE police recently moved into their newly-refurbished and larger premises on the corner of Yeo and Kenmere streets.

The new police station houses all of the departments in one location, whereas before they were spread out at separately.

Constable Thabo Malatji of Yeoville Police Station said, “Communication is more effective, as we now have all of our units together at the same location, prior to when we had the detectives work from another address.

“Members of the community are also coming on board when it comes to combatting crime in the area because they feel safer at the new station.”

According to Malatji, the new police station offers more and better facilities, and whereas the previous station did not have holding cells, the new station does.

He added, “We have developed zero-tolerance towards crime and we will bring those who break the law to book.”

According to Malatji, the Yeoville police have regained their confidence after moving to the new station.
