Craighall Primary School is all smiles on the first day of school
CRAIGHALL – Some were inquisitive, many were excited and one or two wary ones said goodbye to their doting parents with solemn tears running down their rosy little cheeks.
Doting parents Charles and Lisa Samuels accompany their daughter, Callie, to her first day of school.
This was how the first day of school started for the new group of Grade 1 pupils of Craighall Primary School on 13 January.
Principal Andrea Prout-Jones walked along school corridors greeting and welcoming parents and pupils at the start of the day, making sure the first day of school began smoothly. Other pupils hugged each other enthusiastically, glad to be seeing their friends after the holidays.
“Firstly, it was wonderful seeing all the new little faces and those of the older pupils looking refreshed and excited for the new academic year,” said Prout-Jones.
“Secondly, this year we will aim to uphold our new core value to develop each child’s moral compass by teaching them confidence, building their character, instilling compassion and encouraging curiosity,” she continued.
“With children, parents and teachers all working together, we will achieve this goal.”
