Maryvale principal promises quality education for new pupils

JOBURG - Newly-appointed Maryvale Primary School principal Kirsten Smith welcomed new pupils to the school and wished them all the best for the year.

Smith thanked parents for choosing Maryvale and promised that the school would do its best to give their children the best education.

“It is lovely to see that many parents are trying to get their children into the school. It is an adventure for the new children coming in and hopefully they can settle in and become part of our family,” she said.

“We have an exciting year ahead and we have a lot of challenges, considering the state of education in South Africa. So we are going to do our best to make sure that we give them a quality education.”

Parent Brenda Tshitaka, the mother of new Grade 1 pupil, Grabriella, said she was delighted that her daughter was beginning school.

“I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am happy that she will be starting school and Maryvale is a good school. I wish her all the best,” she said.
