Representatives of the vehicle trading service, which falls under the Imperial Holdings Group, visited the school and its pupils on 18 January to hand over a new Hyundai i20 with the aim of assisting the public school with its different transportation necessities. The car is sponsored for the next two years.
Pupils cheered on the grandstand as the car made its way around the playing field, many clapping excitedly while a small few sat in awe of the new car, which was branded with the school’s emblem and colours.
“Those who were already attending Craighall Primary last year will recall the day that we had a visit from Mark Lamberti of the Imperial Holding Group,” principal Andrea Prout-Jones said as she spoke to her pupils.
She continued to tell of how he addressed the school in order to create greater awareness of the requirements which would enhance road safety. She added that Lamberti was in awe of the spirit, enthusiasm and interest which he witnessed during his visit to the school.
“It’s because of your behaviour that morning,” Prout-Jones said as she carried on speaking to the pupils, “that led to him assisting us in receiving a sponsored car.”
She said this will help the school cut down on daily transport costs and to ensure the school has an added commuting capacity for their young athletes to attend their away fixtures.
“Auto Pedigree then agreed to come on board and offer this most amazing sponsorship,” Prout-Jones said in conclusion.
“On behalf of all the stakeholders at Craighall Primary, I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Market manager for the auto dealing company, Direshnee Naiker, further extended the company’s generosity by stating that if 22 cars are bought from the company with referrals from the school, the sponsored car will then become the school’s property in full, without being returned to the dealership in 2018.
The keys were then handed over to Prout-Jones before the car was driven closer to the cheering grandstand to allow curious young pupils to have a closer look.
