King Edward VII Preparatory School celebrated its 110th birthday on 3 February.
All 760 boys from Grade 0 to Grade 7 proudly formed the letters of their school on the field. The celebration included singing Happy Birthday and then climbing into more than 1 000 cupcakes.

Teachers and the headmaster, Doug Shead, enjoyed sharing the treats with the boys. The house captains then delivered some cupcakes to share with their big brothers at King Edward School.

Parent Teacher Association executive committee, Debbie Dart said, “A huge thank you to Sandy Lawrenson from Sweet ‘n Sassy fine cakes for baking the 1 008 cupcakes and to Gary from Cewu-MC Pictures for photographing the event. The red spirit of our boys is so strong and wonderful to see and share. “
