Torah Nursery children enjoy nature

JOHANNESBURG – The schoolchildren of Torah Academy Nursery School take a walk in nature.

The children of Torah Academy Nursery School went on a special nature walk in keeping with the Reggio Emilia approach to education.

Spokesperson for the school, Sue Belling said, “The Reggio Emilia approach lies in its unique view of the child. In this approach, there is a belief that children have rights and should be given opportunities to develop their potential.

“The children from Torah Academy Nursery School went on a nature walk in keeping with the Reggio Emilia approach to education, which is incorporated in the school’s curriculum.”

Chana Rivka Lewin, a Reggio Emilia specialist at the school said, “The children went on their walk with their teacher Tova Braun. They examined the different textures of plants, bark and explored their natural environment. Capturing nature becomes a learning environment.”
