Hyde Park High School hosted its annual matric dance at Bryanston Country Club on 13 May.
With the late rains and freezing weather, matrics were quick to get inside the venue which was magnificently decorated with red and white roses, candelabra and flower petals.
The Matric Dance Committee worked tirelessly to make the theme of ‘Vintage French’ one to remember. Guests were taken to their tables by the committee members who were dressed as mimes.

The young ladies and gents dressed with style and class and danced the night away to a mix of old and new music. The school decided to change this event to the second term of the academic year rather than host it later which will allow the Grade 12s to rather focus on their studies and the forthcoming prelims.
This has proven to be a positive move which is supported by the teachers and Grade 12s.

Manolis Vogiatzis, principal of the school, wished those in their final year well in their forthcoming examinations and congratulated them all on their mature and positive approach to their special matric dance evening.
