Police are searching for three suspected house robbers who allegedly robbed a woman while she was sitting in her bedroom in Highlands North.

The incident happened on 10 August at about 10am while, according to Norwood police spokesperson, Captain Elliot Tshivhase, the complainant was relaxing.

The 44-year-old victim was apparently robbed of about R2 500 and various household items, including expensive gadgets.

Tshivhase told the North Eastern Tribune that the suspects managed to enter the house without a security system detecting them.

“The complainant said she was in her upstairs room, confident that the house was secured.

“The suspects, however, managed to enter the house through a security door and a gate, to the victim’s surprise,” said Tshivhase.

They demanded money and valuables, said Tshivhase and they had no weapons on them, according to the complainant.

“No firearm was used and the victim was not injured. They made off with R2 500, a cellphone and a PlayStation valued at R1 600.”

Police are investigating a case of house robbery and no arrest has been made.

Tshivhase is urging the public to assist with information that may lead to the suspects’ arrest.

Details: Norwood Police Station 011 483 4606.
