The body was originally found by a vagrant passing by at the park on the morning of 11 August. The vagrant, who wishes to remain anonymous, said, “I’ve seen this guy sleeping at the park. I’ve seen him for the past three days. He was fine yesterday (10 August). I saw him sleeping, but he was on top of his jacket when it was cold and I saw he wasn’t breathing so I called the first police car that came past.”

Captain Mabizela added that the Yeoville Police Station is calling on the local community to come forward with any information that would lead to the identification of the body.
