St John’s College celebrates new head of school

HOUGHTON – St John's College has Raymond Barrow as their head of school for next year.

Raymond Barrow from St John’s College has been announced as the new head boy for next year.

Spokesperson for the school, Jacqui Deeks said Barrow has become an important part of the St John’s College community. “Ray arrived at the College in 2014 on an academic scholarship and fell in love with the beauty and sometimes quirky traditions of St John’s,” said Deeks.

He is a celebrated member of the student body with colours in academics, public speaking, debating and drama – the latter proven through him representing the school at various stations.

“He is an enthusiastic member of the 5th and 6th hockey team, played basketball for many years and more recently, is trying his hand at rowing.

“He went on a three-month exchange to England last year and has been involved with the ongoing dialogue surrounding transformation at the college.”
