A fight ends up in alleged murder

BERTRAMS – The suspects have appeared in court and were remanded in police custody.

 

Jeppe Police Station’s spokesperson, Captain Richard Munyai has reported that two suspects were arrested on 30 September in connection with a murder incident.

According to Munyai, the incident took place at Berea Road in Bertrams after a fight between the two suspects and the deceased ensued.

“On 30 September at about 9pm, police received a complaint about a fight taking place in their area in Bertrams,” said Munyai.

“On arrival, the officers found that the man who had been stabbed was already taken to Hillbrow Clinic by members of the community. They proceeded to the clinic and they were informed that the victim had been certified dead on arrival. The deceased was stabbed with a knife.”

The police followed the information and immediately arrested two suspects aged between 26 and 32 in Bertrams.

It is not yet known what the cause of the fight was and police investigations are continuing.

The suspects have appeared in court and were remanded in police custody.
