Five men allegedly rob sneaker store in Rosebank

ROSEBANK – The Shelflife sneaker store was allegedly robbed in the early hours of 3 October.

 

The Shelflife Sneaker Store in Rosebank was the victim of a business robbery in the early hours of 3 October.

Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, the spokesperson for the Rosebank Police Station said, “A case of business robbery has been opened with the Rosebank Police after a group of men held up the store. We are investigating the case.”

According to Mpumi Ndlovu, a site manager for 24/7 Security, two security guards were allegedly held up at gunpoint by five suspects at about 5am. Ndlovu said that CCTV footage showed the men were travelling in two vehicles.

One of the vehicles was a Nissan NP 200 while the other was a BMW 1 series.

The men allegedly smashed the door to the store using a crowbar and gained access to the storeroom where a variety of high-end sneakers are kept. The group then allegedly left the store with the stolen goods. No one was injured during the crime.
