Jeppe police have arrested an alleged drug dealer on 12 October following a tip-off from the residents in Bez Valley.
The suspect, who is believed to be a Nigerian citizen, was arrested in the wee hours of the morning at the corner of 5th Street and Albertina Sisulu Road.
According to Jeppe police spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai, the 41-year-old was in possession of the drugs when he was arrested.
“The arrest was made this morning [12 October] at about 3am in Bez Valley after the police had received a tip-off,” said Munyai.
“The police proceeded to the said place and upon searching the house they found tablets believed to be Mandrax. The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at the Jeppe police cells.”
The suspect will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon while the police investigation continues.
Munyai applauded the community for reporting this crime to the police and further commending their police for instant action in arresting the suspect.
