Norwood police arrest nine suspects for various crimes

NORWOOD – The arrests were made between 15 and 20 October.

Norwood police have arrested nine suspects for committing various criminal offences in the Joburg east suburbs.

The arrests were made between 15 and 20 October, according to Norwood police spokesperson, Captain Elliot Tshivhase.

The arrests were as follows:

  • 1 for housebreaking and theft
  • 1 for rape
  • 1 on a warrant of arrest
  • 1 for possession of a firearm
  • 1 for trespassing
  • 1 for shoplifting
  • 1 for hijacking a truck
  • 2 for house robbery

“All the suspects appeared in court and some made bail while others remain in police custody for further investigation,” said Tshivhase.
