A man (25) was sentenced to 23 years’ direct imprisonment for carjacking and kidnapping in Kew.
Spokesperson for Bramley Police Station, Captain Molefe Mogodi said, “During the month of March, a victim was driving her car in Kew when the accused threatened her and hijacked her.

“The accused drove with her to Westonaria where she was dropped off. The victim reported the matter to the police who without hesitation began investigating the matter.”
The police arrested the accused who appeared in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 17 November and was found guilty of carjacking and kidnapping. He was sentenced to an effective 15 years for carjacking and eight years for Kidnapping.
“The police are happy with the sentence and Bramley Police Station Commander Colonel Owen King commended the investigating officer on the way he conducted the investigation.
