Norwood police crime blitz

Norwood – Police warn criminals, saying they will face the full might of the law.

Norwood police have arrested seven suspects for committing various offences in Joburg’s northeast suburbs.

The arrests were made between 29 December last year and 5 January, according to Captain Elliot Tshivhase, spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station.

Tshivhase said the arrests were as follows:

  • 1 for fraud
  • 1 for housebreaking
  • 1 for common assault
  • 1 for possession of dagga
  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in a domestic violence case
  • 2 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm

He said, “All the suspects have appeared in court. Some were released on bail while others still remain in police custody for further investigations.”

According to Tshivhase, the police will continue to arrest those who are caught on the wrong side of the law.
