Three suspects were reported to have been arrested by the Johannesburg Central Police and are facing serious charges.
According to Captain Xoli Mbele, the spokesperson for the Johannesburg Central Police Station, the suspects were arrested for common robbery and malicious damage to property in separate incidents.
Mbele said they arrested two suspects for an apparent common robbery that took place at Lethabong Mansion on 1 July.

It is alleged that the two suspects robbed a 25-year-old man on the corner of Pritchard and Mooi streets in the Central Business District on the day of their arrest.
“A victim was on his way to catch a taxi to work when he was confronted by the two suspects.
“They tripped him and took his cell phone. He screamed for help and the suspects ran away to the nearby flats,” said Mbele.
Police came to his rescue and the two suspects were apprehended inside the building and a cell phone was recovered, said Mbele.
An investigation is underway and they are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
In a separate incident, Mbele said one suspect was arrested for common robbery, malicious damage to property and assault.
He said the suspect was arrested at Bree Taxi Rank.
“The suspect allegedly robbed a 35-year-old man at the rank.

“They choked and assaulted him before taking his R3 500 and two cell phones before they smashed one of the cell phones on the floor,” he said.
“The victim then came to open the case in our station and police accompanied him to the crime scene.
“He pointed out the suspect and police apprehended and arrested him immediately.”
An investigation is underway and the suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
