HOUGHTON – The St John's Preparatory School celebrated the works of Roald Dahl on 13 September.

The St John’s Preparatory School learners celebrated the birthday of author Roald Dahl by dressing up and reading on 13 September.

The event is an annual celebration of Dahl’s work and sees the youngsters dressing up as the various characters.

Spokesperson for the school Jacqui Deeks said, “It is always a fun day filled with all of Roald Dahl’s unforgettable book characters, James, Willy Wonka, Matilda, The BFG and the rest of the gang making an appearance.”

The school highlighted Dahl’s novel, James and the Giant Peach, for this year and the children posed to take pictures in front of the display in the school’s library paying homage to the book.
