Hope Community Church hosts special quiz night

LINKSFIELD – The Hope Community Church hosted its first of many fundraiser quiz nights on 29 September.

The Hope Community Church in Bramley hosted their first fundraising quiz night on 29 September.

The quiz was held to raise much-needed funds for the various programmes the church runs in the local Bramley community including the establishment of a youth centre and to assist disadvantaged families with food parcels and clothing.

Treasurer of the church Jaysh Sunker said, “The church is a family church, my family is involved. And we wanted to give back to the community through the various projects we want to do. We have a lot of poor people who come to our church and we want to assist them.”

The monthly quiz invited community members to Mozambik restaurant in Linksfield.

Pastor at the church Ajith Sunker said, “Being a community church we would like to be more involved. Our big challenge is being a small church with little resources so we would like this fundraising effort to assist in helping with the projects.”

He added, “We want to be relevant in our community rather than just be a church on a Sunday.”

He said that another project they are working towards is to extend the operations of their Christ Church Christian Care Centre in Berea which looks after orphans, for which they would like to raise funds to bring to their Bramley premises.
