#TrendyTuesday: Bheki Cele blue-ticked by police officers

The community of Westbury has been under the spotlight over the past week following protests and unrest that were sparked by a murder – the protest saw the residents demand better policing and an end to drug-related crimes. Amidst the Westbury shutdown, Minister of Police Bheki Cele addressed protesting residents, telling them that their demands will be addressed.

A light-hearted and slightly humorous moment came out of all the chaos and seriousness of the matters that were brought to light by the protests when a video clip on Cele addressing the community surfaced on social media.

In the video, the police minister greets the police who give him a delayed and unenthusiastic response, contrary to the residents in attendance – who greeted Cele with excitement leaving him in utter shock.
