Superbalist and Spree create SA’s biggest online fashion platform

JOBURG – Superbalist and Spree merger to create the biggest fashion platform with more perks.

On 5 October Spree.co.za officially became Superbalist.com. This follows a three-month integration period in which each platform operated individually before the final integration could be established.

The merger has given South Africa’s online fashion and retail sector a makeover as the popular sites have created South Africa’s largest online fashion platform.

Moneyweb reported that Spree’s existing shareholder, Media24, will hold 51 per cent of the venture, while the Takealot Group’s Superbalist will own 49 per cent of the new business, this including management control.

In a statement, the Media24 group said the new business offering will cater to all of South Africans’ fashion needs from classics to high fashion, street gear and plus-size ranges. In addition to being a one-stop-shop for over 30 000 products, the site has added seven more categories, five delivery options and 10 payment methods.
