Sandringham CPF calls on volunteers to join the fight against crime

SANDRINGHAM – Volunteers will work as part of the Community Policing Forum to help in the fight against crime in the suburbs.

Sandringham Police Station is calling for volunteers to join its Sandringham/Glenhazel sub-forum, a division of the Sandringham Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Residents who reside in Sandringham, Sydenham (north of Kinfauns Street), Glenhazel, Fairmount, Percelia, Talboton, Glensan, Raedene and Dunhill, are called upon to join this sub-forum, which is a group of volunteers who work with the police’s appointed sector manager to fight crime in a demarcated area.

According to the acting secretary for the Sandringham CPF, Alisa Scott, the sub-forum then feeds through to the main CPF of a police station precinct.

Scott said they would hold a meeting of the Sandringham/Glenhazel sub-forum on 15 October and anyone who is interested in volunteering or attending is welcome.

“The meeting will be held in the Tulip Room at Jabula Recreation Centre at 6.30pm where nominations for the sub-forum executive will be tabled,” she added.

Scott said the elections would take place on 12 November at the same venue and time.
