Four suspects, two of them armed, burst into a house in Observatory while the couple was watching TV and ordered them at gunpoint not to scream before they tied their hands and legs up with shoelaces and electrical cords.
This according to the spokesperson for the Yeoville Police Station, Captain Sifiso Mabizelae who confirmed that the incident happened on the evening of 7 October.
After having tied up the victims, the suspects started to the ransack the house, taking with them laptops, speakers, televisions and cell phones. They loaded the stolen items into the victim’s car and drove off. No shots were fired during the robbery.
“The police are pleading with the local community to come forward with any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects,” concluded Mabizela.
