A case of malicious damage to property has been opened at the Parkview Police Station following an incident in October when suspects damaged a gate outside a home in Parktown North.
The complainant alleged that she was at home when she saw three men wearing blue work suits and green reflector jackets at her gate.
Spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “They started to kick the gate and when they saw the complainant through the window, they ran away. They damaged the gate and did not manage to enter the premises.”
Sibeko said that an investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects.
“SAPS Parkview would like to alert the community about the criminals using a silver grey Nissan NP200 with false registration wearing blue work suits and green reflectors as if they are contract workers,” said Sibeko.
