Whyte discusses the ups and downs of 2018 at Greenside High

GREENSIDE – Principal Nicola Whyte shares her reflections on the year.

Principal at Greenside High School Nicola Whyte spoke with the Rosebank Killarney Gazette regarding the school’s highlights from the year.

“The year started on a high note with our excellent matric results. A hundred per cent pass rate is always a relief! Other highlights are, once again, being in the top feeder schools to both University of Witwatersrand and University of Johannesburg. And, of course, being voted Best of Joburg!” said Whyte.

The school was voted Best Public High School at this year’s Best of Joburg awards.

While Whyte said that the nature of her work at the school is sometimes challenging, she said Greenside High has been able to conquer the seemingly unconquerable.

Looking ahead to 2019, Whyte said she looks forward to the new intake of Grade 8s next year. “They always bring a new energy with them and we also, of course, look forward to seeing our other learners again. Believe it or not, we miss them.”

Whyte wishes the Greenside community a wonderful festive season. “Rest well in this relatively short holiday and come back restored to take on 2019.”
