The two suspects who were sought by the police for the murder of two men in Troyeville on 29 January were finally arrested by the police.

Following the publication, police were notified about their whereabouts.

Captain Richard Munyayi, the spokesperson for the Jeppe Police Station, confirmed that both are now in their custody.

He said the two suspects, aged between 31 and 40 years, were arrested while they were on the run.

“The police got a tip-off and the suspects were arrested in Troyeville. One of them had already packed his bags ready to flee to the Eastern Cape,” said Munyayi.

He said the two deceased have been identified but the police could not yet reveal their names. Both were accused of theft of property, including a gun, before they were apparently brought to the shack in the early hours of the morning and assaulted by the suspects before they allegedly killed and buried them under a bed.

Meanwhile, a woman, who was found inside the shack during the time of discovering the bodies, has since been arrested.
