Off-duty Metro police officer arrests two suspects

TURFFONTEIN – Off-duty JMPD police officer arrests two suspects for attempted robbery.


A Metro police off- duty police officer arrested two suspects for attempting to rob a shop in Turffontein on 27 February.

The armed men stormed the shop and demanded cell phones and car keys. The officer opened fire and shot both suspects. One suspect was arrested on the scene and the other suspect was chased and apprehended. The officer recovered a revolver and a toy gun.

Twitter users applauded the off duty officer for keeping the community safe.
