Four suspects nabbed by Johannesburg Flying Squad Police in Linbro Park

LINBRO PARK – Police eventually managed pulled over the suspects after a high-speed chase ensued.


Johannesburg Flying Squad police officers arrested four suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The incident happened on Clulee Road in Linbro Park while police officers were conducting routine patrols on 5 March.

According to the Flying Squad spokesperson, Sergeant Desmond Subramoney, police noticed a suspicious Toyota Conquest with four occupants inside and pulled it over.

“The officers activated the blue lights and siren and tried to stop the car but the vehicle sped away and a high-speed chase ensued until the vehicle came to a standstill,” said Subramoney.

“Upon searching the vehicle, two unlicensed 9mm pistols (a Beretta and a Browning) with serial numbers filed off was found inside the vehicle. The firearms and the vehicle were confiscated for further investigations.”

The vehicle was reported ‘wanted’ at Thokoza Police Station in the East Rand for a hit-and-run case which happened in February 2017, added Subramoney.

He said all four suspects were arrested and detained at Sandringham Police Station.
