Efforts to prevent crime on the streets of Johannesburg are reaping rewards with the police arresting offenders for committing various crimes.
Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested three suspects who allegedly committed crimes in various locations in the city.
The suspects were arrested between 8 and 11 March and Flying Squad spokesperson, Sergeant Desmond Subramoney said they also recovered two stolen vehicles.
“The arrests were made during our routine patrols. One suspect was arrested for possession of stolen goods, another one for malicious damage to property while the other one was held for possession of drugs,” said Subramoney.
“The stolen vehicles that were recovered are two Ford Ranger bakkies which have been reported [stolen] at local Johannesburg police stations.”
Police are encouraging the public to collaborate and work with them by reporting crime and any suspicious persons and activities in their area.
“That information may be given anonymously by phoning the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or calling the nearest police station.”
All three suspects aged between 32 and 39 will appear soon in different magistrates’ courts.
