BRAMLEY– The Bramley police are all about fighting crime in the area.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for housebreaking and theft in the Bramley area, on 27 March.

The head of communication for Bramley Police Station, Captain Molefe Mogodi said the suspect allegedly broke into a home and stole items. “The victim alerted security [personell] who responded quickly to the call and the man was arrested,” he said.

“He was then handed over to the police for detention and further investigation.”

Mogodi added that the police will also conduct thorough checks to establish whether the suspect could be linked to other crimes in the policing area or elsewhere.

Mogodi said another suspect was arrested in Kew for dealing in drugs. “It was in the early hours of the morning when the South African Police K9 Unit was patrolling in the area. The members then received information about a man who was allegedly dealing in drugs.”

He added that officers followed up on the information which led them to a house in Kew. “Upon their arrival, they found drugs and the man was questioned and subsequently arrested… the value of the drugs was estimated at R44 000.”

The 43-year-old man is set to appear in court soon to face charges of dealing in drugs.
