AKA denounces fame, even after album reaches double platinum status
JOBURG – AKA’s Touch My Blood reaches double platinum but he is not pleased.
It’s been close to a year since the release of AKA’s third studio album, Touch My Blood. The album arrived to rave reviews and flattering criticism upon its release and spawned hits such as Fela in Versace, Jika, Caiphus Song, and the mega-hit, The World is Yours.

The album has officially reached double-platinum status with approximately 60 000 units sold. The album is up against Emtee’s DIY2, Jabba X’s #FGTBB, Kid X’s Thank Da King and Nasty C Strings and Bling in the Best Hip-Hop Album category in this year’s South African Music Awards.
“TMB is double plat. Thank you for buying it. Amazing,” AKA said in a tweet.
However, it seems that AKA was not all that excited by the milestone as he said he didn’t really care about it, and even went as far as denouncing his fame.
