JOBURG – Top five things to do in Joburg this weekend.

We’re officially at 2019’s halfway mark and at the start of Youth Month. As we’re for the youth and everything vibrant, we’ve got the hook up with the hottest events to kick start the month.

31 May: BudX The Rhythm Johannesburg

The Rhythm continues its monthly journey with the third episode at Great Dane and Metanoia in De Beer Street, Braamfontein. The Rhythm is a music event series that explores the different musical influences and the music culture in different cities. Providing a unique experience that shifts from the traditional eventing experience. Doors open at 6PM and tickets are available at the door from R50. Access to both venues will be allowed with the access tag purchased.

1 June: Castle Lite Unlocks feat. Riky Rick and Rouge

On 1 June, Castle Lite Unlocks feat. Riky Rick and Rouge will showcase the reasons it continues to push the limits of hip-hop, but this time around, the game will be change as Riky Rick and Rouge take lovers of the culture through the ultimate hip-hop experience which features gaming, sneaker installations, illustrations curated by Nardstar, and a chance to win tickets to the upcoming Castle Lite Unlocks, featuring Post Malone. 1 June: Poetry League Season 9

The Poetry League is heating up as it heads closer to the grand finale at the 9th Word N Sound Youth Poetry Festival in October. Each month, 20 poets engage in the fiercest literary battle in hopes of taking home the cash prize and bragging rights. This truly is Africa’s toughest slam with an unforgettable feast for spoken word lovers every first Saturday at the Con Cowan Theatre on UJ’s Bunting Rd campus.

2 June: First Sundays Melville

First Sundays Melville, every first Sunday of the month. Join us for a beautiful Sunday afternoon meander through Melville and experience the hustle and bustle of all that’s on offer including live music, bar hopping as well as food, drink and lifestyle specials at a variety of Melville’s most loved restaurants, bars and shops.

2 June: Khona Karaoke Sundays
