Highlands North Boys’ High School prepares for 80th anniversary

HIGHLANDS NORTH – The meeting will be held on 8 June and it will discuss plans on how best to celebrate this the school's 80th anniversary.

 


Highlands North Boys’ High School’s management will gather at their school on 8 June to discuss the future of the male-only institution and old learners are also invited to share some ideas.

The school’s governing body chairperson Chris Bosielo said at the meeting, they will discuss the school’s 80th anniversary which will be held on 31 August as well as plans on how to revive the school and raise funds to reinvent the facilities.

He said they invite everyone who has been part of the school over the years to participate in this meeting which will be held in the school’s main hall. “We want to celebrate this historic 80th milestone significantly and thus we invite every former learner from the school to come and share their ideas.

“We will also use this platform to raise funds for the school as we want to revamp the facilities and give our school a new look. We also invite local and neighbouring businesses to come through and support us through donations.”

According to Bosielo, the school’s ceilings are deteriorating and leaking when it rains. “We need every assistance we can get to enable us to revamp the school and ensure that our children are taught in facilities that are conducive for learning.”

The meeting is expected to start at 9am. After the meeting, there will be a football tournament which comprises of U15 to U19 teams.
