Mbele said inside the victim’s vehicle the suspects found R20 000 in cash. “The victim earlier went into a shopping centre to take the money to the bank but the bank could not help him because their systems were offline. He left the bank and was stopped on the M1 freeway.”
Mbele added that it was not an abduction case but rather a car hijacking incident. The vehicle has yet to be found.
The victim was dropped off at a nearby shopping complex. A case of car hijacking has been opened and the investigation is ongoing.
