Simphiwe Ngema, Kay Sibiya, Ntando Duma and more join Tropika Island of Treasure
JOBURG – Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao announces celebrity contestants to battle it out in its ninth season.
The Tropika Island of Treasure is set to return to the small screen for its ninth season. This time around the reality show will see six celebs and six consumer contestants compete for their share of fame and fortune and share a R1 million in the island paradise of Curaçao.
Curaçao, a Dutch-Caribbean island, feels like a little piece of Europe on the edge of the Caribbean with glorious hidden beaches, amazing onshore snorkelling and diving, and a wild undeveloped windward coast. A picture-perfect place to serve as the backdrop for a smooth ninth season of the hit show.
Barbara George, brand manager for Tropika, said she was looking forward to seeing #TIOT9 play out on an entirely new island with an exciting new group of celebs.
“Each season of Tropika Island of Treasure is even smoother and more exciting than the last, and #TIOT9 will be no different,” said George.
In addition to revealing the island for this season, Tropika has also just announced that auditions for #TIOT9 will take place entirely online – a first in the history of the show, providing an opportunity for more people across South Africa to enter and stand a chance to win a spot on the island.
A big part of what makes the show as entertaining as it is, are the celebrities. In #TIOT9, viewers can expect to see familiar faces such as Simphiwe Ngema, Kay Sibiya, Nadia Japhta, Siphesihle Vazi, Ntando Duma, and Bouwer Bosch.
“We’ve got an amazing group of celebrities who’ll join us for the ride on an entirely new Caribbean island, with a whole new set of challenges and fun. One of the most exciting changes we’ve made to this season is that auditions will be taking place online. This means that even more consumers across the country will have an opportunity to audition and stand a chance to win a spot to join us on the island, competing for their share of fame and fortune with #TIOT9,” George said.
