Victim identifies three suspects leading to arrest

CRAIGHALL PARK – Three suspects thought they had committed successful housebreaking only to bump into patrolling police on their escape.

While on their regular patrolling routine, Parkview Police Station officers stopped a suspicious vehicle. It transpired that the occupants were linked to a housebreaking in Craighall Park when a victim, accompanied by security officers, identified them.

According to spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, “The complainant reported that she was busy with laundry when she heard a dog barking. She went outside and into the cottage. One male suspect grabbed her by the neck and pulled her inside. The victim saw another suspect carrying a TV. When she started to scream, they left her and ran away.”

Sibeko added that three men between the ages of 35 and 53 were then arrested for house robbery after the victim identified them. The suspects appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court to answer on charges of housebreaking.

“The Station Commander of Parkview SAPS, Colonel Theledi Gopane, would like to commend police members and Cortac Security officers for the swift arrest.”
