Parktown girl Caitlin Rooskrantz hopes to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games after winning the award for Senior Gymnast of the Year at the South African Gymnastics Federation Awards for 2018.
Caitlin’s highlight last year was placed highest of any African competitor at the World Gymnastics Championships in Qatar.
Caitlin sat out of many events during 2017 due to a serious knee injury but made an exceptional comeback last year. After not being selected for the Commonwealth Games team due to her injury, Caitlin persevered and became Senior National Champion for 2018.
She also competed in the African Championships where she contributed to the team silver as well as winning gold on uneven bars for the second consecutive year.
