Start spring with giving

MELROSE ARCH – Residents are invited to partake in the Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk in aid of charity.

There are so many children in need of your love and support and this is the perfect time to give a child their forever smile. It’s as easy as taking part in the Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk whereby all proceeds go to two incredible causes, Smile Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose sole purpose is to help children in desperate need of reconstructive surgery as well as Hospice Wits, also an NGO who is dedicated to caring for patients and their families that are living with life-threatening illnesses.

So put on your walking shoes, grab a friend and enjoy the first day of spring at Melrose Arch, which is pleased to once again be hosting the Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk on 1 September in aid of charity.

The walk, supported by Classic FM, is an easy 5km walk starting on Melrose Boulevard, meandering through the tranquil suburbs of Melrose North and Birdhaven, and ending at Melrose Arch’s Piazza.

Entries cost R150 per adult; R80 per child under 12 years; and children under two years are free. Walk numbers can be collected on 31 August from 9am to 2pm on the Piazza, or on the morning of the walk. Walkers can also enter on the day, between 6am and 8am.

“We are delighted to once again be hosting the Walking on Sunshine Spring Walk at Melrose Arch. It’s a great day out that’s a lot of fun for the whole family and, better still, it’s a fantastic way of donating to charity,” said Mike Vermaak, managing director of Melrose Arch.
