23 August: Black is Blue by Oupa Sibeko
Taking place at The Point of Order, Black is Blue is a meditation on play. It uses ideas and methodologies of play and performance as ways to reflect on improvisation, make-believe, and staging as modes of survival, and ways in which people have historically recreated cultures through embodied, reflexive, and collaborative ways.
24 August: SURREALSOREAL SHOW 3: The Dramatic Transcendence
The Dramatic Transcendence is a bespoke experience with live music by Elo and a fine art exhibition with Makgato Romono. Elo aims to express moments of her rise from the unpleasant childhood she had and celebrate the newly empowered woman she today. Expressionist Makgato Romono, is a fine artist from Meadowlands and will be sharing the different expressions of love within the context of his surroundings. 24 August: Secret Underground Storytelling Dinner
Enjoy a magical evening at the Secret Underground Storytelling Dinner. Joburg’s hidden treasure, Zwipi Underground, will open for a night of storytelling combined with delectable food and drinks. A most memorable evening in the city that will leave you mesmerized by the story of a city rebuilt six times in 13 decades! As well as the history of Somerset House – a 1904 bank building. 25 August: House of Vans Johannesburg
A unique pop-up experience taking on 1 Fox from 22 – 25 August 2019. It promises to be the most insane event with live musical performances by local and international acts, art installations, workshops, open skate sessions, a local community street market and so much more!
