The nation of South Africa looks forward to the Rugby World Cup beginning on Friday 20 September in Japan. Rosebank Killarney Gazette asked locals to share their messages of support for the Springboks.

This is what they had to say…

THEO MOODLEY: It will be a big tournament for the Springboks especially considering the great losses we’ve had this year. I wish them well.

MEGAN BRETT: All the best to the boks. Wishing that you settle in, adapt quickly and that all factors play to your advantage. Looking forward to watching some competitive rugby. Bring home the winning trophy and make us all proud.

LAURA PISANELLO: I’m not the biggest rugby supporter, but I love the camaraderie everyone feels when supporting our national teams. I hope the Springboks are able to bring home a world cup trophy and build national pride.

ITUMELENG KOMANA: I know they will do well. They will be playing against big competitors but they are also one of the best.

ANEESA ADAMS: I just want to say to the Boks, play hard, play fast and remember that the whole country is behind you. Go Bokke!
