St Mary’s first aiders are hard workers

WAVERLEY – St Mary's director of sports Jill Quicke hails the unsung heroes of sports.

The director of sports at St Mary’s school in Waverley Jill Quicke, known as Quix, recently said the school’s first aid girls are the unsung heroes of sport and a dedicated team.

“This group of dedicated girls spend hours on the side of the sports field, sometimes at practices and sometimes at matches, to complete the necessary practical hours.”

According to her, they have some quiet afternoons, while at other times they deal with scrapes, bruises, strains, sprains, blood and bones. “As coaches, we are very grateful for their presence and know that we could not run sport without their support.”
