A 36-year-old man was arrested by Sandringham police on 26 January after he allegedly forced himself onto the woman after having drinks together.
Sandringham Police Station spokesperson Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo provided some details, “A 36-year-old male was arrested on 26 January for allegedly raping a woman in the early hours of the same day.
“It is alleged that the suspect forced himself onto the victim after they had had some drinks together. After some hours the victim came to the station to open a case of rape and the suspect was arrested by our hard-working members.
“He appeared in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 27 January and was remanded in custody.”
Mamabolo has urged community members to be always vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
