JOBURG – A community member tipped off the police regarding the boxes of snack chips at the restaurant.

A 31-year-old male was arrested on the corner of Kerk and Joubert streets in Johannesburg Central for possession of suspected stolen property on 24 March.

Johannesburg Central Police Station, Captain Xoli Mbele said police received a tip-off from the community regarding boxes of snack chips inside a fish restaurant. “Police rushed to the place and found 138 boxes of the snack chips. The shop owner failed to produce a receipt of purchase. He tried to bribe the police but he was apprehended.”

Mbele commended the officers for their good work and also refusing to be corrupted by the suspect.
