Police have asked the community to come forward if anyone has information regarding a recent crime incident in Orange Grove.
Norwood Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Eric Masotsha said the incident happened on 18 March on the corner of 10th Street and 10th Avenue in Orange Grove. “The victim, who is a delivery scooter driver, alleged that he was approached by two male suspects, not armed who demanded his belongings. The suspects took his belongings and jumped into a Suzuki motor vehicle and sped off, leaving the victim at the scene. The docket for common robbery was opened at the station and the suspects are still at large.”
Masotsha has called on the community or anyone with the information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to come forward. He also appealed to members of the public to be vigilant during the 21-day lockdown, especially when buying home essentials online. “Criminals are opportunists and knowing that many people have locked themselves in their homes, they might use lockdown period to terrorise residents.”
