WATCH: St John’s College embraces creativity and fun during lockdown
HOUGHTON – Learners at St John's show off their creative and quirky learning methods.
St John’s College has kept its social media followers entertained with regular updates and quirks during the lockdown.
The school has shared comical images of their learners studying in a variety of locations including koi ponds, basketball courts, swimming pools, in the kitchen, on rooftops and in hammocks to name a few.


Grade 1 boys in Tucha Elliot’s class shared videos of new ways of greeting one another without using their hands, which proved to be entertaining.

Boys also shared photos of themselves learning alongside their pets at home. The cats and dogs are enjoying much more time with their young human companions at this time.


Learners from St John’s Prep sent in photos of themselves learning in creative outfits or in creative locations, for example in a sea of chocolates or reading while on a treadmill.




College boys had community members in stitches with their creative videos featuring a roll of toilet paper which is ‘passed’ from house to house, uniting the boys.
Martin Huysamer’s LIV Nash tutor group put together one of these videos on 1 April, showing their spirit of brotherhood

The St John’s College first team rugby squad, also known as The Blues, who would have played away to King Edward VII School on 4 April, put together an entertaining video of them taking on the toilet paper challenge, while showing off their training.
