Just as spring breathes new life into the world around us, so new life was breathed onto the campus at St Teresa’s Junior Primary School in Craighall Park. This as the school welcomed most of Grade 00 to 3 girls back to school for Term 3, for five days a week.
Computer educator and marketing liaison at St Teresa’s, Lianda May said, “Our girls returned dressed warmly for the unseasonal cold morning, amidst much excitement at seeing their teachers and friends again.”
She added that strict Covid-19 health and safety regulations and protocols remain in place, including masks, hand sanitising and social distancing.
“Our girls were delighted to be back in their classrooms, to continue learning as well as on playgrounds and fields to rekindle friendships and share lockdown stories.
“While our online programme has been excellent over the past few months, the staff are thoroughly looking forward to a term where we have daily contact with our girls. Life lessons learnt from interaction with other children are invaluable and cannot be replicated online,” May said.
She continued, “The energy in the school this morning brought great joy to all. We ask God to take care of us, and all South African children, as they return to school.”
