Condolences pour in for beloved reverend father
ROSEBANK – According to a Facebook post by the St Teresa’s School, the reverend passed on due to Covid-19.
The St Teresa’s School community has expressed its condolences on the passing of Rosebank Catholic parish’s Reverend Father Thabo Motshegoa.
The school posted the following on their Facebook page:
“It is with deep sadness and enormous shock that we learnt of our beloved Father Thabo Motshegoa’s passing earlier today from Covid.
“Father Thabo was adored by all whom he met and had an incredible connection with our girls, often telling them how much he loved them. His death is a massive loss to the Rosebank Catholic Community, our Rosie family and all who knew him.”
St Teresa’s Senior Primary School principal Jean Carey said, “Father Thabo was truly loved by all at St Teresa’s School and played such a vital role in our girls’ spiritual development. The girls loved going to Mass and enjoyed their interactions with him. His delightful sense of humour and brilliant homilies will be forever etched in their hearts.
“Father Thabo has left a massive void in all our lives and will be sorely missed. We are most grateful that we had the honour of knowing such an incredible person and for being privileged to have been able to share in his teachings. May his dear soul rest in peace.”
Rosebank Catholic Church stated, “Dear family of Rosebank parish, it is with a very heavy heart that I am informing you that Father Thabo passed away this morning. Father Thabo has had a huge impact on our Parish in the time he has been our priest and will be sorely missed by everyone. We will communicate with you as soon as we know more. The church is currently closed for service until at least July 10. We appreciate your understanding during this time and will keep you posted on any changes to this.”
