Parkview resident uses art to explore and capture people’s characters
PARKVIEW – Ryan Robinson believes that art is a vehicle for exploring the possibility and a projection of what could and should be.
Originally from Cape Town and now staying in Parkview, Ryan Robinson established his passion and love for art while he was still in Rondebosch Boys’ High School.
His passion for art initially started when he learnt his father was also passionate about art. It then gave him the confidence to try hard in the art class.
“I found I had a talent for drawing, particularly faces – capturing people’s expressions and the essence of their characters,” he said.
And he has never looked back. This dynamic individual, who loves life and people, spends his time painting murals and portraits.
His fascination with people has drawn him to portraits.
“The large scale of the portraits amplifies the captivating quality of the expressions and essences of the subjects’ characters,” he said.
Robinson reckoned the meaning of art is a projection of what could and should be. According to him, it is a vehicle for exploring possibilities.
He called on those who may like a portrait in charcoal or as a spray-painted mural to get in touch with him. He also draws portraits for pets.
