Evictions take place at Fairmount sports grounds

SANDRINGHAM – Frustrated occupants say they have nowhere to go.

About 30 people have been evicted at the Fairmount sports grounds located on 64 George Avenue in Sandringham. The eviction started at around 10:00 on January 17, with the Johannesburg Property Company (JPC).

*Note: In a previous version of this article, it was stated that the eviction took place at the Fairmount Bowls Club. This is incorrect, as the eviction in fact took place, at another section of the sports club. For this, the Gazette sincerely apologies to the bowls club for the error.

Occupants say they have nowhere to go and were not given notice, however, another occupant did show the Gazette a copy of the formal eviction notice.
